Coach's Email 10/9/2023
Hi all,
Wow, the season has gone fast! I cannot believe we are in the second week of October and 11 days from our final home match and Senior night. I am so proud of the hard work from all of our players and the progress they've made from the start of the season.
I wanted to share a few upcoming events/dates for everyone as the weeks are flying by.
First, we have two upcoming fundraisers on 10/15, Rita from our JV team is hosting a cornhole tournament. Rita can share the flier and will be a great way to spend a Sunday! The second is on 10/19 at Rubios from 6-8pm. Flyer is available at the bottom of the website home page for download. Please support these two fundraisers as they help support our programs!
Senior Night - October 20th
It is a tradition to support and celebrate our seniors and their families at our final home match. Our younger players are busy with preparations as well that our seniors always love! I do want to share that we will have a very quick presentation prior to our match (under 7 minutes) where we will recognize the visiting seniors and our seniors. Announcer Steve will work with me on the presentation. It will be important for all of our players, and our senior families to be staged and ready to go. I will work with Victoria Stanley on making sure everything runs smoothly and quickly as we are mindful of CIF rules and the officials. We will hold all photos other than quick family shots till after the match.
We WELCOME all players and families to stay post-match for refreshments and our senior slideshow as well as photos with our seniors.
Banquet - November 7th at The Oaks Grille
Jessi Latimer is once again leading our year-end celebration, along with her committee for our program banquet. Information is on the website and due to space limitations, we do have limitations on the number of guests for each of our players for the dinner portion at 6pm. If you would like to attend the awards at 7pm, this is at no cost and we do not limit the number. If you need additional guests, please reach out to Jessi directly.
Also, ALL guests will be expected to be 100% COMMITTED to making this a CELEBRATION and 100% about our players and their dedication. We have already scripted what is already a very tight timeframe due to venue requirements. The doors will not open till 6pm sharp. Principal Rodriguez will be attending to ensure we keep this as a celebration and focus on all of our players who have all worked so hard!
The website is www.ramonavolleyball.com and you can register via venmo or check per the instructions.
Thank you everyone for your support!

<<IMPORTANT REMINDERS>>
Here are a couple of reminders as we enter the second half of our season:
1. Away Match Transportation. Our commitment is to keep our players in the classroom as long as possible on away match days. This means that there is ZERO wriggle room in getting to our matches and why we leave as a group. Upon the 25 Minute clock and captains called, officials check and require ALL rostered players to be on the court in uniform. If players are missing, the officials can require that the missing players miss the match even if they show LATE. So, if your players require food prior to the match, please bring healthy, light food that is good for energy for the players to eat in the car.
2. All of our practices are considered closed practice sessions. This is for the safety of our athletes and anyone participating in the gym needs to be cleared as district volunteers (approved prior. to June School Board meeting) for the fall season. If you need to pick up your player, please meet them outside of the gym. If you need to meet with one of the coaches, please make arrangements prior to practice.
Upcoming Tournaments and Parent Volunteers
As I mentioned at the parent meeting, our tournaments are fundraisers for us and we rely on participation of our RVB families. ALL PLAYERS are REQUIRED TO volunteer at their designated tournaments as well as parent volunteers. Ann Patterson, Brenda Peterson and Alisa Padilla are our team moms, so look for a sign-up genius for volunteer time slots. The players are required to stay ALL day.
Saturday 10/14 Novice FALL Classic - JV Players and families volunteer, VARSITY players officiate and varsity parents volunteer. Times: 630am set up (Players/Managers/Coaches) - 6pm final match and tear down SIGN UP HERE
SAVE DATE: Senior Night on 10/20 - LAST HOME MATCH
SAVE DATE: 2023 Banquet - 11/7 - Details on Website BANQUET page.
Thank you everyone!
